Q&A With Briony Williams, Guest Chef At This Years' Powderham Food Festival!

We caught up with Briony Williams, one of our fantastic guest chefs’ at this years’ Powderham Food Festival, to chat about the south-west food scene, including her hometown of Bristol and what she is looking forward to most at the food festival!

What’s been going on for you since the Great British Bake Off?

It's been an amazing year! I've been working with Asda creating recipes for their Good Living Magazine. I've done a lot with various charities in Bristol like St Peter's Hospice and Jessie May. There's some more exciting news but I can't share it just yet!

We are very excited to have you at the Powderham Food Festival, as you’re based in Bristol, what do you love about the south west food scene?

I love Bristol and the South West! There are so many incredible food places in Bristol, especially down at Wapping Warf where the food scene is so vibrant and there are so many gorgeous new restaurants and eateries.

What would you say is your favourite thing to make?

Cake! Baking cakes will always be my first love, they're what I started making and I still love creating fun and interesting cakes. My favourite thing at the moment is to make cocktail based cakes.

Do you have any top baking tips that you could share with us?

Practice! If something goes wrong, do it again until you get it right, it's the only way to get better. I've had many a baking disaster but to you have to go back at it and try to improve.

The food festival is going to be a full weekend of incredible food and drink exhibitors, live music, demos and more! What are you looking forward to most?

I love discovering exciting local food and drinks at festivals, it's all about pottering around enjoying the smells and sights!

Where would you say is one of your favourite restaurants to eat out?

I love Eat Your Greens, it's an incredible vegan cafe/restaurant in Totterdown. I'm not vegan but I love exploring plant based food and it doesn't get any better than here!!
