The Theatre of Fire and Smoke is back for 2018 and we have a great line-up of BBQ legends ready to impress with smokin’ hot demonstrations!
BBQ legend Ben Forte is the co-host of the smash hit podcast ‘UnitedQ’ and will be our compere for the weekend but will also be sharing a couple of lovely recipe ideas gleaned from his years of rubbing shoulders with the giants of the scene.
The man behind Quiet Waters in Devon, John is coordinating this years Theatre of Fire & Smoke expansion and as well as welcoming people to the tipi each morning, will be bringing his fire cooking experience to a dramatic seafood bake at the festival this year, cooking in barrels with hot stones and seaweed.
Powderham regular & ITV’s BBQ champ Simon, will be demonstrating some amazingly simple but imaginative skewer ideas from simple quick yakatori style treats to some of his wonderful twists on this ancient concept.
Award-winning South West cook Sue will be showing off her baking skills and explaining how easy it is to tun out wonderful cakes and flans on your BBQ at home.
Hugely experienced British chef Nic, who has worked with most of the greats from Mossiman to Marco Pierre White, will be demonstrating a fantastic fish dish. All easily prepared on the BBQ.
Chef owner of the Pickled Pig, Callum will be taking a break from his role demonstrating and cooking his great low & slow BBQ for the masses outside to show how to prepare an exciting meal for two that will really impress, despite being easy to learn.
Powderham favourite, Topsham Good Game’s Steve will be demonstrating along with master butcher Alistair David, how to get the best out of local game and some great ideas on how to prepare it for the best results when cooking at home.

We are so pleased to be able to bring two of the real greats of Argentine Asado to the festival this year. Martin, Argentinian Chef of Temper in Soho and David who runs the popular Sizzle Grill courses in Cornwall are providing a tag team demonstration of everything that is great about cooking over fire the South American way.
Alistair, one of the master butchers from Darts Farm, will be providing expert explanations and demonstrations of many of the cuts being used by our all-star demonstration team, which will not only allow everyone to see why certain cuts work best for each dish but will also help you know what to order from your great local butchers when trying things out at home.
Veteran of Grillstock & Voodoo Q smokehouses BBQ Chef Matt, has all the tricks and skills to guide you along the road to the perfect, classic BBQ meats at home. He will share shortcuts and tricks of the trade to get you cooking like a pro.
