Now in its sixth year Powderham Food Festival has become, in a short space of time, an established event on the Devon ‘foodie calendar’, attracting both exhibitors and visitors from far and wide across the South West, not just Devon.
The organisers, Bob Small, Fiona Gofton and Gabby Jackson bring vast experience in staging events having ‘cut their teeth’ on the highly successful Mortenhampstead Festival of Food Drink & Arts, which they organised together. Combining their skill sets, be it administration, creativity, marketing, organisation, PR or sales has bought Powderham Food Festival to life.
During the five-year period of the Moretonhampstead Festival relationships were forged with a large number of exhibitors who found the slick administration and the ‘on the day’ organisation very much to their liking. This was backed up with high profile PR campaigns and large visitor numbers; it was in fact a hard core of exhibitors who suggested that the team looked for another venue with a view to staging an autumn event – thus was the Powderham event born.
Not satisfied with repetition, the team ring the changes each year with innovative themes, different and novel speakers, live music and entertainment – not to mention an increasing range of exhibitors showing the very best that the South West has to offer. The organised trio do not rest on their laurels and are already considering pastures new for their next offering for the discerning Devon festival goer.
